Runescape (quick Coins and Experience)

Lately I have seen many a large increase on Runescape with new players begging for money, or spamming the more experienced players for help. So I have decided to write an article on how to become one of the rich players on Runescape.

First off, when you enter the game, you need to decide what kind of fighter you want to be, your options are fairly limited, you can be a mage, ranger, or a warrior. Whatever you want to do, make sure that you specialize in one of the three, spend some time to research each type of fighter and make your selection that best fits your style. I chose to be a mage when I played because I discovered that the mage levels up just as slow as the ranger but the mage can battle warriors of the same level and have about four times better odds of winning the fight. The only problem with being a mage was I had to learn how to make money and make it quick to keep up.

Mining is possibly one of the easiest ways to make money in the game. It’s simple; go mine copper ore until you can mine iron then mine iron until you can make it into the mining guild. After you have gained access to the guild mine coal, you won’t have a million coins in a day; (unless you do nothing but sit behind your computer) but mining is a nice way to get some chunk change for whatever you need to buy.

If you have chosen the warrior path then along with your mining you should try smithing. It doesn’t make money as quickly as mining, but if you have the determination you can eventually sell full rune armor for 80k a piece.

Woodcutting is another way to make money but it is slower yet, with woodcutting the only way to make any real money is to cut willows, the good part is though that you can cut willows in the Draynor and the bank is right there so you can collect a lot of them before you go and sell them and you can make it worthwhile.

Battling is one that a lot of people look over when they talk about making money, probably because you only really make money if you are a warrior or a ranger because with the other fighting style you always have to be replenishing your ammo. When you do battle things, collect anything that seems to have a value, even bones can be sold for 5gp. Learn quickly that in the game of Runescape everything has a value, the harder something is to find though the more likely you will make bank off of it.

Use the Grand Exchange whenever you are selling anything, it especially keeps the scammers from doing what they do best. The grand exchange is the best place to buy and sell everything, the only problem is that sometimes you have to wait for a while to get what you want, but in the long run it is a worthwhile place to buy and sell.

Finding your niche can be very important, once you have began to make progress doing one thing don’t stop to do another. Once your niche has been found continue with it.

These are just a few ways of making money in Runescape, there are other options on how to make it and if you need some help or want more advice try going to Sal’s Realm. It is a very good resource to use for more information on what I talked about.

Lifelong Gamer at the Age of 42

It was pretty clear at a young age that I enjoyed video games, starting on an Atari 2600 I can still remember staying up all night trying to score a million points with a friend as we handed the controller back and forth to give each other a break on a game called Laser Blast. Back then the term gamer had not been invented yet.

As time went on I played games on other gaming consoles, the Commodore 64, Sega, Nintendo, Play Station, up until I finally had my first PC, that is where I started to play Diablo, and Star Craft, both of which were created by Blizzard Entertainment. I do not actually remember how we stumbled upon this game, though I think it came out about the time I was working for CompUSA.

The game was a dark fantasy role playing based game released in December of 1996. There were 3 classes to choose, Warrior, Rogue, and Sorcerer. I remember me and my brother playing the warrior class while a friend played the Sorcerer. There were 16 levels of dungeons and was set in the fictional Kingdom of Khanduras. Through the levels of killing monsters you obtained treasure and in some cases magical items to enhance your character, you also gained experience which increased your level and powers to ultimately help you get to your main objective. The main objective was to enter hell on the 16th level and kill Diablo a powerful demon.

My brother, friends and I spent many hours playing Diablo together and many occasions all night, sometimes only stopping to go to our jobs. This was certainly the game where I became a gamer as the term is known today. So much so that I am eagerly awaiting the release of the Diablo 3 that is to be released in May 2012. I also have been playing Star Craft 2 since it was released almost 2 years ago now. We do not play Diablo anymore but up until Star Craft 2 came out we still played the original from time to time.

As we await the newest arrival of Diablo III we have already checked the list to assure our PC’s are updated and capable of handling the system requirements of the game. My brother looks to build a newer PC so that he will be able to play when the game hits the shelf. Just another day awaiting the arrival of the latest game, the day and life of a gamer.

Diablo 3 – Act 3 Legendary Farming Guide

One of the biggest complaints I see on the Diablo 3 forums is that many people are not getting legendary and set items at what they think is an acceptable level. I was one of the people who felt this way for awhile until I started refining my strategy. I now average 1 to 2 legendary items an hour and I am not maxed out on magic find or paragon levels. My strategy is built around a Whirl Wind Barbarian build with little to no magic find on my gear. My only magic find comes from my follower and my paragon levels.

The follower you should choose should be the enchantress. Buy her gear that has max or near max magic find, intelligence and vitality. For her weapon get a cheap intelligent based Maximus. The reason I choose a Maximus over a Grand Visor is because I feel the demon that is summoned by Maximus is far more useful than the 10% or so magic find you would get from the magic find weapon.

Finding more legendaries is all about efficiency. The more elites you kill in a given time frame the more likely you are to get one to drop. Some people have success with killing trash mobs or kicking breakable objects but these are very inefficient in my opinion. This does not mean you shouldn’t kill trash mobs, I just don’t go out of my way to kill them. I personally have never found any set or legendary items from a chest or any other breakable objects.

For max efficiency you should be farming monster power 1. This makes all mobs level 63, a 25% magic find bonus and one additional item dropping from mobs 10% of the time. If you are able to kill elites in 10 seconds or less you can move up to monster power 2. Higher monster power levels generally make mobs inefficient to farm because the health and damage output doesn’t scale well with the magic find bonus.

The odds of a sellable level 60-62 item dropping are very slim. Identifying items waste time as well as having to sell to a vendor. With this in mind you should never pick up anything other than level 63 items. The only exception to this rule is jewelry. Level 60-62 jewelry can roll stats good enough to sell for some decent money. Tomes and gems that drop are simply not worth the time it takes to stop fighting and pick them up. If you must pick some gems up only target the flawless emeralds since they range up to 4k each.

The absolute fastest and most efficient route I have been able to come up with is similar with Alkaiser’s run but sort of the opposite. Start the quest to kill Azmodan. Use the way point for the Arreat crater level 1. Run through this area killing everything in your path until you run into a dead end. If turning back means you will be running for more than about 15 second without anything to kill then you should port back out. I know some people will feel the urge to complete the whole level but it’s very inefficient to have to travel back over areas where mobs are already dead. Remember we are trying to kill the most number of elites in the least amount of time. Generally you will kill 2-4 elites in this area.

Now depending on the outcome from Arreat Crater level 1, you are either back in town because you town portaled or you are now at level 1 of the tower. Make you way around the first level in a counter clock wise direction. You want to go counter clock wise because you want to end up where the stairs lead down to the next level. You will find 1- 4 elites in this area and maybe a goblin.

There is nothing special about the next level of the Tower of the Damned. Clear this level and you should kill another 2-4 elites and maybe a goblin. Continue down to the next level The Heart of the Damned.

Clear the Heart of the Damned and you will again killed 2-4 elites. Sometimes a goblin will spawn on this level as well. You will now enter the Arreat Crater level 2.

Clear as much of the Arreat Crater level 2 as you can. Just like the Arrest Crater level 1, you want to port out as soon as you hit a dead end. If you can return to main path within 15 seconds turn around but if it will take longer than that just portal back out.

Depending on your outcome from the Arreat Crater level 2 you will either be in town or at the Tower of the cursed level 1. Portal into the tower if you are in town and begin to clear. Clear both the level of the Tower of the Cursed. You will have killed another 2-4 elites on each of the floors and maybe a goblin. Do not enter the Heart of the cursed. Once you have come to the Heart of the Cursed entrance portal back to town.

Now portal into the Core of the Arreat. This is the most straight forward area. There is only one main path and anywhere from 1-3 elites and maybe a goblin. Kill everything in your path until you reach Azmodan lair. Kill Azmodan and portal back to town.

Now portal to the Keeps Depths level 1. Immediately enter the portal to level 2. Clear as much of level 2 as you can until you run into a dead end. Log out and repeat this run again.

You should be able to do this entire run in under 20 minutes. With good gear you can do it in under 15 minutes. With around 300 or more magic find you will average 1 legendary every other run.

How to Make the Right Gear and Talent Choices to Maximize Your DPS in World of Warcraft

Playing the DPS role in World of Warcraft can be lots of fun. When you are in normal mode dungeons it isn’t as vitally important to maximize your DPS, but if you want to be successful in heroic mode dungeons and raiding you need to put out as much DPS as possible. Some of the harder encounters require the damage dealers to do enough damage fast enough before the boss enrages and completely wipes the group or raid. A perfect example of this would be Argaloth, the boss fight in Baradin Hold. If the raid can not defeat him in 5 minutes or less, he goes berserk and does 900% more damage. Needless to say, this will quickly wipe the raid if you fail to do enough DPS. In this article I will go over several different ways to maximize your DPS by making the right gear and talent choices.

Picking The Right Gear

Each class has a primary stat that you should look for on all of your gear when playing the DPS role. Strength for Warriors, Paladins, and Death Knights; Agility for Rogues, Hunters, Enhancement Shamans, and Feral Druids; and Intelligence for Mages, Warlocks, Shadow Priests, Elemental Shamans, and Balance Druids. In all but a few situations, you should never use a piece of equipment that has a primary stat different from the one that your class benefits the most from, because at best you will only get suboptimal benefit from it compared to a piece with your primary stat. Along the same lines, you should never use a type of armor that differs from the specialization for your class, since you get a 5% bonus to your primary stat. This 5% bonus will outweigh any improvement you may get from wearing a leather piece of armor if your armor specialization is mail, for example.

Talents and Glyphs

For each class, there is generally a best talent specialization for doing DPS in a group, with the other specializations being better for soloing, PVP, tanking, or healing. To maximize your DPS you will want to use the best talent specialization for DPSing in a group, as the differences in DPS between the different specializations can be quite large. This is why the Dual Talent Specialization is so nice, because you can have a second spec for other parts of the game in addition to your grouping specialization.

When picking the individual talents for your specialization, you will want to pick the talents that will increase the damage of the abilities you use the most. The same goes for glyphs, use the ones that will give the biggest improvement to the abilities or spells you use most frequently. If you are unsure of which talents and glyphs are the best to use, you can always check the official forums for help.

Tracking Your Progress

A great way to track your progress is to use an add-on that will keep track of your DPS. I personally use the Recount add-on, as it gives lots of helpful information about how much damage I’m doing.

Keep in mind that while DPS will most likely never be in high demand because of the popularity of the role, high quality DPSers are always needed and appreciated.
